Lucy Emma (Hartman) Soapes was born on May 27, 1891 in Tennessee, the daughter of James D Hartman (1867-1931) and Nancy Bell "Nannie" (Garrett) Hartman (1872-1977).
She was married about 1911 as the 1st wife of Luther Thomas Soapes (1889-1948), the son of William Drennon Soapes (1856-1953) and his wife Eizabeth (Stanfield) Soapes (1856-1902).
Living in Davidson County, she was 27 years old and married when she died at Saint Thomas Hospital of double lobar pneumonia on November 29, 1918. Burial was the next day in Cane Ridge Cemetery.
