Obadiah shared an eight acre home-lot with Samuel Kellogg, Sr. of Hadley, Massachusetts; this he acquired the year before he married.

We next hear of them, in the records of the Indian attack on Hatfield, Massachusetts Sept 1677, during which their home entered, and Obadiah and one of his children were taken captives; Sarah was severely burned and left dead, and their house and barn burned. The following spring, arrangements were made for the return of the captives.

Married on Jun. 8, 1668 to Sarah Beardsley, he married second, abt. 1690 to Mehitable Hinsdale, father of 3 sons and 3 daughters. He was a Sgt. in King Philip's war, in which he lost 3 brothers. He lived at Hatfield, Ma, Stratford, CT and later Wethersfield. Buried in the Old Cemetery at Wethersfield. The widow Mehitable, who raised Obadiah's children by his first wife, married
in Dec. 1698 to Joseph Hills (1649-1713) and had a son Benoni Hills in (1700-93)
