DEATH INFORMATION:

Obituary from the Toronto Star (Toronto, York County, Ontario, Canada) on Monday, February 1, 1909, page 6, column 4:

Mrs. Sarah Johnston.

The death occurred on Saturday last of Mrs. Sarah Johnston, at the residence of her son-in-law, Dr. O. A. McNichol, 386 Parliament street, at the age of 69 years.

She was born in Peel County, where she married the late William Johnston, a farmer near Britannia. She resided there until 17 years ago, when, on the death of her husband, she came to Toronto and has since lived with her children. Mrs. Johnston was a member of the Methodist church. She had six children, all of whom are living in the city. They are Messrs. F. M., E. B., and O. P. Johnston, Mrs. Dr. O. A. McNichol, Mrs. Albert Rogers, and Miss Maud Johnston. Two years ago Mrs. Johnston had a bad fall on a stairs, and fractured a leg and arm. Since then she has been bed ridden, and the continued confinement affected her heart. The immediate cause of death was, however, uric poisoning.

The funeral took place this morning, an early service being held at the residence of Dr. McNichol, and afternoon service at Britannia, Peel County, where the interment took place.
