Roger was born January 1, 1954 in Morley, MO the son of Rogers Sr. and Margaret (Lancaster) Vaughn. He married Mary Schroeder on February 16, 1974 in Rock Island.
Roger retired in 2005 from John Deere Harvester, East Moline after 30 years of service and later owned and operated Vaughn Trucking and Excavating with his sons, where he loved to drive the dump truck. He loved his 1969 Z28 Camaro and always entered it in the Blackhawk Auto Show. He enjoyed raising his horses and was a great cook.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Brandon Vaughn and Justin Vaughn, both of Aledo and sisters, Jeanette Becker, Rock Island and Greta Martin, MO. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters.
