He was born in Cleveland as the son of Fred C. and Julia Alice Taylor Williams and was a graduate of Cleveland High School. He married the former Lucille Andrews in Cleveland in 1930. He was a member of the Cleveland Church of the Nazarene and was retired from Traveol Inc. of Cleveland.
Services will be 2 p. m. Tuesday from Thweatt-King Funeral Home of Cleveland. The Rev. Ellsworth McCracken and the Rev. Brooks Bloodworth will officiate.
Burial will be in Beevers Cemetery in Cleveland with Thweatt-King Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Andrews of Cleveland; a son, James Daniel Williams, Jr. of Cleveland; two daughters, Mrs. Bobby “Vera” Ware of Cleveland and Mrs. Dan “Danelle” Savage of Biloxi; a brother, Arthur Cade Williams of Memphis; four sisters, Mrs. Evans “Naomi” Thrash of Andalusia, Ala., Mrs. Roland “Opal” Morgan, Mrs. Elmer “Maggie” Smith both of Cleveland and Mrs. Jim “Krissie Glassock of St. David, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Tommy Andrews, Robert Andrews, Bobby Elliott, Charles Elliott, Bobby Brown and Bobby Brown, Jr.
