Marshall "Poody" Fowser was born January 27, 1912 in Slayton, Twp. Murray Co., MN to Lloyd and Selma Peterson Fowser. He was seven years old when the family moved to Lake Wilson, MN where he graduated from High school in 1931. He also graduated from Ag. School winter course in St. Paul, MN. On October 3, 1936 he was married to LaVerle (Gayle) Pugh in Sioux Falls, S.D. After their marriage they lived in Lake Wilson until 1954. They then lived on a farm north of Lake Wilson until 1976 when they moved back to Lake Wilson. He was a farmer and was an insurance agent for forty years. Poody was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lake Wilson, the Masonic Lodge and Osman Temple Shrine. He also served on the Lake Wilson Village Council. His hobby was hunting and fishing. He has been in failing health since last Christmas and has been a patient at the Murray County Memorial Hospital, Slayton, MN since March 21, 1985. He died there on April 25, 1985 at the age of 73 years. Poody is survived by his wife, Gayle; three sons and two daughters, Donald of Seattle, WA; Dan of Long Lake, MN; Dale of Jordan, MN; Daris, Mrs Milton Schuur of Chandler, MN and Darcel, Mrs. Mike Haupert of Lake Wilson, MN. He has fifteen grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother and one sister, Mark Fowser of Corpus Christi, TX and Gwynn Lantman of St. Paul, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Vernon and Burton.
