GREAT FALLS—Phyllis Ann Lawrence, 84, of Great Falls, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Peace Hospice with family by her side.

Phyllis was born on December 4, 1931 in Potsdam, North Dakota to Rosella and Harold Smith. She married Marvin Mease and became a rancher's wife. Marvin passed away. Phyllis then met and married Paul Lawrence, together they had three children. He later passed away. She worked as a daycare provider, landlady, and was an operator of an antique and odds and ends store.

Our mom, our hero, loved and cared for our family. She was our rock. Her door was always open. Phyllis liked to garden, dance, enjoyed music, prepared holiday meals and enjoyed life. She lived, laughed and loved us all. She never complained. Her memory will live on in the hearts of many. She was our angel on this earth, and we will miss her dearly.

Phyllis is survived by her longtime companion; two daughters; a daughter-in-law; four brothers ; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by many of her beloved family members and her only son, Paul Lawrence.
