Ashley Dean Griffin, age 52 born in Jacksonville, FL October 15, 1963. Passed away at home on May 27, 2016 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with Cancer.

Ashley was an Honor Graduate of Victory Christian Academy class of 1981, where he was a member of the Varsity Basketball team. As a child Ashley always had a love for dirt bikes and go-karts. At the age of 10 he began racing go-karts at various tracks throughout the State of Florida. In 1990 he raced the Open Wheel modified series at Jax Raceway and moved to the Columbia Motorsports Complex in Lake City FL. He ended his racing career with a First Place win in the Florida Pro Series in the Open Wheel modified class in 1993.

He was an avid Sports Fan all of his life. He had a love for and was a wealth of knowledge of all sports. He was a HUGE Florida State Seminole Fan. NASCAR and FSU were a family past time creating lasting memories. Ashley had a love for family vacations, he was the family travel guide. He really loved vacationing at the lake with family; swimming, boating, skiing and fishing!

Ashley is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Deborah. He was the father of two children; Bobby (Elizabeth) and Lindsey. He was a grandfather to Addison. He was the son of Ariliss and the late Louise Griffin. Stepmother Joyce Griffin; In-Laws Bob and Shirley Grosso. He is also survived by his sister, Wendy Bunk (Dean). Three nieces Amanda, Melissa and Dana; Special cousin Carol Ann Stoops and many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Antoinette Louise and loving and devoted pet Brindle.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Peeples Family Funeral Homes, Riverview Chapel, 2220 Soutel Drive, near Lem Turner Road. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday June 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Reverend Bill Crews officiating. Interment will be immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery. Words cannot express how much this Husband, Father, Son and Son-in-Law will be missed.
