Rose Mary Hogan, 91, Ottawa, died on May 16, 2016, at the Vintage Park Assisted Living in Ottawa, Kansas.

Rose Mary was born May 19, 1924, in Emporia, to Francis Xavier and Dora Schroer Fladung.

Rose Mary grew up in the Olpe, Kansas area. She moved to Kansas City and worked at the National Biscuit Company during the war until her marriage. She married William Hubert Hogan on April 23, 1949, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe. They made their home on a farm in the Emerald Church community, rural Garnett. Rose Mary was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society, at Emerald.

Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hubert on June 26, 1989, her son John, her grandson, Ryan, four brothers, Herman, Gene, Jim, and John, and four sisters, Sister Mary Jane, Eileen Lowenstein, Charlotte Korte, and Marge Korte.

Rose Mary is survived by her daughters, Rosalie (Phil) Asebedo, Denver, CO, Dorothy (Kenny) Messick, Williamsburg, and Teresa (Eugene) Lopez, Aurora, CO, her sons, Gene (Cheryl) Hogan, Lane, Ken (Donna) Hogan, Kansas City, MO, Ed (Carol) Hogan, Florissant, MO, and Steve (Cheryl) Hogan, Kansas City, MO, her daughter in law, Monica Hogan, Sunrise Beach, MO, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, 4 step grandchildren, 9 step great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 23, 2016, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, at Emerald. There will be a Rosary at 6:30 P.M., Sunday, at the church, with visitation from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Patrick Church or the VITAS Hospice, and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.
