Lydia Hickie Bollman, daughter of William and Martha Hudson Darrah, was born near Plano, Iowa, Nov. 19, 1883, and died in the Seymour Care Center Feb. 13, 1975, at the age of 91 years, two months and 24 days. She was the last survivor of 11 children.
On Jan. 8, 1908, she was united in marriage to John Hickie. To this union were born five children. Florence at the age of six preceded her in death and her husband, John, died Oct. 7, 1929. In December 1937, she married Clarence Bollman of Jerome. He died Oct. 15, 1942. Since that time she continued to live in Jerome with her son, John.
She leaves to mourn her passing, a daughter, Mildred Sidles of Colfax; three sons, Clay Hickie of Des Moines, Harold Hickie of Allerton and John Hickie of Jerome; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Clay Hickie and Mrs. Harold Hickie; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Carron Hickie of Trenton, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.
When she was 16 she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was saved for time and eternity through God's amazing grace. This wonderful salvation she proclaimed and enjoyed more and more until her death.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 15, 1975, at the Liggett-Randolph Funeral home in Seymour with John Lewis officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Richard Mincks, soloist, and Mrs. Gary Couchman, pianist. Interment was in Southlawn cemetery.
