Obituary of Terri Gail Balloon
Terri Gail Balloon-Cole was born on July 5, 1962 in Enterprise, Alabama to Mattie and Willie S. Balloon Sr. She was the first born of three, Sharon and Willie Balloon Jr.
Terri was married to Jeffery L. Cole and raised two beautiful daughters, Tyresha and Jeterah Balloon. Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Leroy and Clara Balloon, Connie D. and Annie Lee Cobb, and her uncle, Connie Lee Cobb.
After residing in West Texas for a short period, the family relocated to Oklahoma City in 1970, where Terri later attended Northeast High School. During her senior year, she was employed at Internal Revenue as an assistant for Federal Judges of Oklahoma where she continued to work beyond her high school years. She was a member of Future Business Leaders of America and a graduate of the Vikings Class of 1980. Terri attended Rose State College and later tried her hand at teaching. She taught at Villa Teresa Catholic School for many years, but it was her charisma and great customer service skills that lead her to retail sales. She was a leader, mentor, and dedicated worker at JCPenney (Penn Square Mall) in which she received many awards and accolades. She was known for her keen sense of fashion and better known by her colleagues and customers as the "Eye Shadow Queen". It was at JCPenney where she worked until her passing.
Terri Balloon obeyed the Gospel at the tender age of 13 at the Garden Oaks Church of Christ, where she was a faithful member. She had a love for singing and was a dedicated member of the choir. Terri was the Head Counselor and had a passion for mentoring the youth not only in her community and congregation but also at Regional and National Youth Conferences. She was also an active and devoted member of Oklahoma Ladies For Christian Education, Inc. for several years.
On May 22nd, 2016, the Lord called Terri home. She leaves to cherish her memory, her parents, Willie Sr. and Mattie Balloon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; husband, Jeffery L.
