Mr. Grasser emigrated to the United States at age 17, settling near Oberlin, Kansas. There he married Martha Begeman on December 19, 1885. In 1890 they moved to Bellingham, Washington. Two years later they moved to San de Fuca on Whidbey Island where they spent the rest of their lives. Their children were Theodora, Anna, Harry, Elmer and Melvin. Mrs. Grasser died in 1928 and the following year George married the widowed Mary Jane (Blackiston) Severs.
