Dies On Kiel Pole
A 51-year-old Chilton man, an employe of General Telephone Co., was stricken with a heart attack while working on a telephone pole along 4th Street in Kiel Monday,
He was Jerome J. Keuler, 537 Reed St. James Powers, Manitowoc County coroner, said Keuler suffered the attack about 1 p.m. He was lowered from the pole by Kiel firefighters,
Mr. Keuler was born July 20, 1925 at Charlesburg, a son of Mrs. Veronica Steiner Keuler and the late Roman Keuler.
On July 6, 1957 he married Marian Bolz McMunn at St.Mary Catholic Church, Chilton.
He was employed by General Telephone Co. for 20 years and sold insurance for the Equitable Reserve Association. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Chilton; Knights of Columbus, Calumet Council, and Chilton American Legion Post.
Mr. Keuler was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Debora and Judy, both at home; a
stepdaughter, Mrs. Donald (Gail) Wendt, Neenah; a stepson, Thomas McMunn, Little Chute; a grandchild; his mother, Mrs. Vernoica Keuler, Chilton; two sisters, Mrs. Arnold Hertel and Mrs. Alphonse Woelfel, both of Chilton, and a brother, Glenroy, Green Bay.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church,
Chilton, preceded by brief family rites at 10:30 at the Pfeffer-Wieting Funeral
Home, Chilton. The Rev.James Vennix, pastor, will be celebrant of the Mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday until 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
A parish vigil will be held at 8 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus rosary at 8:30 Wednesday at the funeral home.
