Mrs. Barnes was a loving mother and homemaker. She previously worked as a Sales Representative for Combined Life Insurance in Petersburg and was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Petersburg, where she was strong in her faith. Mrs. Barnes loved to crochet and was a fan of Frank Sinatra and music of that era.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by: 4 daughters, Charlene Cahill of Petersburg, WV, Dharlene Rushing and husband, Jim, of Pensacola, FL, Virginia Barnes of Petersburg,WV and Theresa Saunders of Petersburg, WV; 1 son, Walter J. Barnes of Petersburg, WV; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barnes is preceded in death by: 1 son, Richard Moore Jr., 1 infant son, Raymond Moore and 1 brother, Horace Carlisle.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 6-8 PM in the Chapel of the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg, WV. The viewing will conclude with a Vigil and Prayer Service. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Petersburg, WV with Father Giles LeVasseur officiating.
