Franklin Lee Ball, age 70, of Winchester, Kentucky, formerly of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in a Lexington, Kentucky hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Red Ash, Virginia and was the son of Walter and Myrtle Goodman Ball. He had made his home in the Richlands, Virginia area most of his life having moved to Winchester, Kentucky 24 years ago. He was a disabled coal miner having worked 40 years in the mines.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Lester and two brothers, Glen and Estill Ball.

Survivors are: His Wife: Sandy Maggard Ball Two Daughters: Sherry Bailey and husband, Doug of Belfast, Virginia Ann Bentley and husband, Rodney of Winchester, Kentucky Four Sons: Frankie Ball and fiancée, Edna of Richlands, Virginia Scottie Ball and wife, Sabrina of Richlands, Virginia Kevin Mullins and wife, Trish of Clay City, Kentucky Johnny Mullins and wife, Leann of Winchester, Kentucky Two Sisters: Ruby Davis of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Geraldine McGlothlin and husband, Clarence of Raven, Virginia Eleven Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Franklin Lee Ball will be conducted Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00am at the Open Window Worship Center in Jesus Name in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Bobby and Shelia Stanley, Rev. James and Pam Dye and Aaron Dye and Jackie and Amanda Wright officiating. Interment will follow at the Boyd Family Cemetery near Marvin, Virginia.

Relatives and Friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the church where friends may call after 6:00pm Thursday and Friday evenings.
