Edwin S. Conant, aged 62 years, native of Glover, died Thursday at his home in East Somerville, Mass. Mr. Conant was for many years a wholesale grocer in Boston, where he was widely known in fraternal circles. The cause of his death was a stroke of paralysis, suffered about three weeks ago. Mr. Conant was prominent in Somerville public life, serving as an alderman and for many years as treasurer of the Franklin Street Congregational church. He was for many years treasurer of the DeMolay Comandery, Knights Templar, Boston, and held high office in the Royal Arcanum, Knights of Honor, A.O.U.W., Commercial Travelers’ Association, Boston Chamber of Commerce, and the Vermont Association.
