Mario R. Gatti, 89 of Bristol, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, December 26, 2015. He was the husband of the late Helen (Lukaszkiewicz) Gatti.

Mario was born in Hartford on October 31, 1926 son of the late Joseph and Nancy (Martel) Gatti. Mario was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was discharged in July 1946. He retired in 1988 doing structural layout for Topper & Griggs in Plainville and was a member of St. Matthew Church in Forestville. He enjoyed golf, skiing and gardening but most of all he was a dedicated and devoted family man.

He leaves his children, Susan Gatti, Lisa and her husband Rick D’Onofrio of Bristol, David and William Gatti of North Carolina, daughter-in-law Christine Gatti-Palance of Vermont; twin brother Daniel Gatti of Simsbury; grandchildren Jennifer and husband Joe Overkamp, Daniel Palance, Jason Gatti, Angela Gatti Hayes and husband Tom, Brian, Monica and Dakota Gatti; great grandchildren Caleb Overkamp, Haley and Landen Hayes and several nieces and nephews. Mario was predeceased by his siblings Frank Gatti and Nancy Carnelli.
