Charlotte W. Powell, 93, passed away on May 29, 2016. She was born in Pittsylvania County, on October 11, 1922 to P.O. Wall and Marjorie Moss Wall. She was preceded in death by her husband Luther T. Powell; brothers, Cornelius Wall and Donald Wall; sister Frances Roberts; and grandson David Finch. She is survived by sisters Wanda W. Bass, Peggy W. Dickerson, Earlene W. Vogt; children, Karen Anderson (Bill) Chip Powell (Mary); five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She worked as an office clerk at Smith-Douglas Company and retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company. She was a member of Vandola Baptist Church.
