Mrs Julia C Steckman
Mrs Julia Clotilda Steckman, 222 Emily Street, died this morning at the Allegany County Infirmary where she had been a patient since May 1951. She had been in ill health four years. Born in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Kathryn (Kirby) Cordial. Mrs Steckman was a former teacher in the county's public school system and had served as principal at both Flintstone and Corriganville schools. Mrs. Steckman had been associated 25 years with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Kathryn Spidell, in operating the Steckman Dance Studio. She was a member of St Patrick's Catholic Church. Her husband Curtis G Steckman preceded her in death. Surviving besides her daughter are a sister, Mrs Frank A Wolfhope this city and several nieces and nephews. The body is at the residence. A requiem mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St Patrick's Church and interment will be in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery.
