Mrs. Catherine Stein Abels, aged 70 years, wife of Peter Abels, died last Wednesday evening at her home 28 Dewey St., North Dravosburg following a lengthy illness. She was born in North Dravosburg and was a lifelong resident of that place. Besides her husband, five daughters and five sons, George, Alvin, Harry, and Catherine Abels and Mrs. Stella Meadwell, all at home; Peter W. and Jacob Abels and Mrs. Fred Shaffer of Dravosburg; Mrs. Jacob Powley [sic Paule] of Mifflin Township and Mrs. Elizabeth Lewis of East Pittsburgh; four brothers, Jacob Stein of this city; Nicholas Stein of Homestead; George and John Stein and one sister, Mrs. John Schultz, all of Thompson Run; 19 grand children and six great-grandchildren survive. Funeral services were held in her home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon burial took place in Richland Cemetery. (Duquesne Times, April 3, 1925)
