ROCK HILL – Mr. Jerry R. Pope, 78, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, May 30, 2016, at his home.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, with Mr. William H. Reule Jr. and Dr. T. Dean Reule officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
Born in Rock Hill, Mr. Pope was a son of the late Broadus E. Pope and the late Mary Helms Pope. He was a U.S. Army veteran and owner/operator of Catawba Pest Control for over 40 years. He was also a member of the S.C. Pest Control Association.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Geneva Bailes Pope; his daughter, Sherry Pope Adams and her husband, Greg, of Rock Hill; his sister, Faye Pope Reule and her husband, William H., of Waxhaw, N.C.; his grandchildren, Scott Adams and his wife, Christine, and Lauren Adams Broome and her husband, Chase; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Ray Pope.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, June 1, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.
