DELLOS and DOROTHY CHIDDISTER, 613 Colorado St Goshen, former Ligonier residents, were killed in a traffic accident in Michigan's upper peninsula Aug 14.
He was a retired elementary teacher in the Elkhart Community Schools, a previous teacher at Perry Elementary north of Ligonier; and she was a special education teacher at New Paris Elementary School. They were westbound on M-28 near Christmas Michigan when he attempted to turn left into a private drive. The car was struck by an eastbound semi.
He was born Oct 22, 1912 and had taught in the Elkhart Community Schools for 14 years. He retired in June 1976 and was employed as a courier at Salem Bank & Trust at the time of his death.
She was a daughter of Bessie and Hugh W Trotter. She was first married to Wilbur Musselman, who died in July 1962.
Her survivors include a son, Jan Musselman of Merrillville; and a brother, Francis M Trotter of Elkhart. His survivors include a son, Carlyle of Arlington, Heights Illinois; a daughter, Mrs Richard (Karen) Smith of Middlebury; and a sister, Mrs Fay Owen of Millersburg.
