OSCAR BERNHARDT

In failing health for more than a year, Oscar Bernhardt, 63, town
of Gibson farmer, who with his brother William operated the Bernhardt
Brothers Farm, died at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital early Friday,
where he had been a patient for a month.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Zion Evangelical
United Brethren Church, Mishicot, the Rev. B. A. Zimdars officiating.
Interment will be in the Mishicot Public Cemetery.
Oscar Bernhardt was born in the town of Mishicot in 1889, a son of the
late Otto and Mary Sharff Bernhardt. In 1920, he married Miss Minnie
Fischer at Luxemburg and after their marriage, they moved to their farm
in the town of Gibson.
For many years, Mr. Bernhardt was a member of the board of stewards of
the Zion Church at Mishicot and for three years up to a year ago, he
was a member of the Mishicot Public Cemetery Association.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter (private), three sons (private),
five brothers, Fred of Rt. 5, Manitowoc, Emil of Manitowoc, the Rev.
Hugo of Greenleaf, William of the town of Gibson, and the Rev. Otto
Bernhardt of El Dorado, Kansas. A brother, Herbert Bernhardt, preceded
him in death several years ago. There are three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Specht Funeral Home, Mishicot, after 7 p.m. Friday
until 11:15 a.m. Sunday when the casket will be taken to the church
where it will lie in state until the hour of services.
