Mr. Johnston died Friday, July 31, 1970 at St. Francis Hospital after a short illness.
A native of Sikes, Mr. Johnston had lived in Monroe for the past 24 years. He was retired from the lumber and logging business in Clarks. He was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sarah Jane Johnston, Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. H. C. Nichols, Mrs. M. J. Carbone, and Mrs. Charles Penn, all of Monroe; four sons, Clarence Johnston, Elton Johnston, L. V. Johnston, all
of Monroe, and R. L. Johnston of Vidalia; one sister, Mrs. Levie Martin of Jonesboro; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
