She was born in a small red brick farm home in Holladay to Abigail and Henry S. Florence, the seventh of ten children.
She married James T. Cobb in 1946 and they had four children: James Jr. (Jim), Christine, Julie, and Amy. The marriage ended in 1973. After living alone for five years, Anne married Dale Linden Powell, a friend from childhood, in 1978. Later sealed in the S.L. Temple. Dale's three children, David, Lori, and Gary, became part of our family.
Mom and Dale had twenty wonderful years together serving family, neighbors, and the LDS Church, including many years in the German Name Extraction Program.
Survived by children, Chris Merrick (Randy), Julie Crane (Corey), Amy Thompson (Dale). Step-children (Cyndi Powell), Lori Dahlquist (Kris), and Gary Powell (Elizabeth); thirty-seven grandchildren, sixty-four great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, brother, Giles Florence; and sisters, Maxine Gonzales and Penny Tolman. Preceded in death by husband, Dale; son, Jim; and step-son, David Powell.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in the Olympus Eighth Ward Chapel, 4500 South and 2700 East, with a viewing one hour before.
Interment: Holladay Memorial Park.
