Robert Dale Sullivan, 77, of Laurel, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Nursing Home in Collins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, with burial in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Laurel. The Rev. Henry Freeman will officiate. A diesel mechanic, he served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of Plainway Baptist Church in Laurel and was an ordained Baptist minister. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Mae Sullivan, Sept. 17, 1994; one son, Tommie Dale Sullivan; and grandson, Kevin Dale Sullivan. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Earl Sullivan of Laurel and Richard D. and Karen Sullivan of Ellisville; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann Tucker and the Rev. Virgil Tucker of the Tucker's Crossing community; one brother, W.D. Sullivan of Mt. Olive; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Josh Sullivan, Travis Tucker, Nathaniel Tucker and Grey Slay. Visitation will be held from 6:30-10 p.m. today, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.
