Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he was the son of Meredith P. Crawford, Sr. of Chevy Chase, Maryland and the late Helen Grizzard Crawford.
He was a 1956 graduate of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School and of Vanderbilt University - Class of 1960. He graduated from Washington University Law School in 1966. He earned his master’s degree in law taxation from NYU Law School. He was a member of the NY and D.C. Bar Assns.
Mr. Crawford was formerly employed by the Lone Star Cement Co. He was senior counsel for Texas Gulf in New York and director of LinMij M.V. in the Netherlands.
He is survived by his father; his wife, the former Monique Van Lent; two children; two sisters, Ann Crawford, Edmonton, Canada and Susan Crawford, Chevy Chase, Maryland.
A memorial service will be held in the Wilton Congregational Church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Ithaca, New York.
