The funeral service for William F. Bartels, 82, of Baldwin, who died Sunday in the Maquoketa Hospital, will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the Maquoketa First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Harold Kumph will officiate, and burial will be in Buckhorn Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 pm Tuesday in the Carson Funeral Home, Maquoketa.
Mr. Bartels was born Aug 26, 1889 in Germany to William and Doris Brey Bartels. He married Augusta Weede, July 11, 1914, at Nashville.
Surviving are two sons, LeRoy of Oxford Junction and Laverne of Baldwin; a daughter, Mrs. Marion (Leora) Randolph, Maquoketa; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother, Fritz of Bryant. His wife, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
The date of death was March 19, 1972.
