In August of 1850 he was farming in District 3 of St.Clair County, Illinois. He probably moved back to Marion Co., IL prior to his death, since his widow remarried there about eight months latter.
It's difficult to be absolutely certain about exactly where he died and was buried, (either St.Clair or Marion Co., IL? ), but the most interesting clue I've located is an unconfirmed statement that his death occurred in Omega Twp., Marion Co., IL. This location is on the line between Clay and Marion Co., IL, and not far from his former home in Oskaloosa Twp., Clay Co.. It would make it extremely likely that he's buried in the now apparently lost Methodist burial ground established near his home in that township, where his mother and most likely his 2nd wife, along with others currently unknown, are reportedly buried.
