Joe Stanley, 76, Rainbow City, passed away Monday, May 3, 1999. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Collier-Butler Chapel with the Revs. Bobby Joe Winningham and Danny Freeman officiating.
Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery, Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Stanley was a lifetime resident of Etowah County and a veteran of World War II. He was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from Republic Steel after 27 years service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O.C. and Lily Henderson Stanley; sisters, Ruby S. Abrams, Ruth S. Walters, Pearl S. Cofield, Nellie S. Williamson, Frankie S. Naler, Mary S. Keys: brothers, O.C. Stanley Jr. and Fred Stanley.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary S. Stanley: sons, William J. (Kay) Stanley. Greenville, South Carolina, Robert C. (Sandy) Stanley and S. Brad Stanley, Rainbow City, C. Brian (Donna) Stanley, Douglas; daughter, Elizabeth S. (Lenny) Day, Kennesaw, Georgia; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Drs. Luis Urbina, Dinesh Parmar, Chaihan Korn and G. Patel.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at the funeral home.
