Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or School or donor’s choice.
Mr. Busse was born April 20, 1921, in North Mankato, to Emil and Adelheid (Rathjen) Busse. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1939. He was in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, from 1942-45 as a glider pilot. He worked for Hoe Gas Co. from 1946-47. He worked for Omaha Railroad from 1947-51. In 1951, he started Busse Express and ran this until retiring in 1989. He also worked for the U.S. Post Office during this time as a rural mail carrier, retiring in 1983. He taught flying at Mankato Airport for a number of years. He married Norma J. Siebel on June 10, 1951, in St. James. He was a member of Rapidan and Key City Sportsman Clubs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his wife; three sons and their wives, David and Julie, Paul and Linda and Mark and Andrea of Kooskia; 10 grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. He was preceded in death by one brother.
