Granbury TX: Charlotte Ann Chase Crawford, 79, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away suddenly and has joined our Heavenly Father on Thursday May 19, 2016

Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday May 25, at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home & Memorial Park. Interment will follow services at Hillcrest Mausoleum & Memorial Park 7405 West North west Highway, Dallas.

Charlotte was born to James and Goldie Chase on April 7, 1937. She and her two brothers, Bill and Jim Chase, and her sister Barbra Chase Sappenfield were born in Kingsport Tennessee.

At the age of 10 the family moved to Speedway, Indiana where she later graduated from Speedway High School.

On the evening of Thanksgiving 1953, Charlotte and a girlfriend were at the local small town drug store located at the corner of 15th and Main streets. While sitting at a chrome table near the soda fountain counter, David Crawford and a friend came in and joined them. This was the first time she and Dave met. On that evening, one thing lead to another, and Dave drove her home in his red Chevy convertible. From there their 63-year relationship continued.

Charlotte and Dave were married on February 13, 1959 and Dave was in his senior year at Purdue University. Charlotte was the only one with a full time job and, with her savings, they bought a used mobile home. On September 15, 1960 their first daughter, Lisa Ann, was born and few weeks later they moved to Chicago for Dave's first full-time employment. From that moment on Charlotte became a fulltime mother and housewife. In 1963 they moved back to Speedway and their second daughter, Gail Marie, was born on October 12, 1963.

In 1963 Dave took new employment with RCA Corporation which eventually began a twenty-seven year period of adventurous travel. Charlotte lived in Speedway IN, and 1972 they moved to Taipei Taiwan, for two years, and then moved to El Paso TX for twenty-five years, with a short stay in Chihuahua Mexico. Although Speedway was a long period in her life, Charlotte considered El Paso as her primary home where her two daughters graduated from Coronado High School and her husband retired.

Upon retirement Charlotte and Dave purchased a new home and moved to Lago Vista, TX. She wanted to be closer to her one and only grandchild, so she told her husband they were moving to the Dallas area. They sold their home and purchased another new home in Pecan Plantation (Granbury) TX where they have lived until her passing.

Charlotte's greatest love was her two daughters, her husband, but they were eventually surpassed by her grandson, David Seagram.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, David Crawford; daughters, Lisa Crawford and Gail Seagram and her husband, Mike Seagram and grandson, David Seagram; brothers, James Chase and his wife Provi; William Chase and his wife, Linda.
