Joan Louise Lacher, 86 Jamestown ND passed away peacefully at Ave Maria Village on May 27.

Joan was born June 5, 1929, at home in Williston ND to Julia (Honick) and Hugo Clark. Joan started piano lesson at the age of five and continue playing throughout her life. She was in her High School orchestra and a dance band that played numerous place throughout her high school career. Joan graduated from Williston High School in 1947. Joan had two years of nurses training in Amarillo Texas and worked there.

Joan returned to Williston to make her home. She met her husband of 59 years Leo Lacher there. Joan worked all of her adult life. She enjoyed working for the Ray Plumbing Company. Joan had an eye for decorating, selling and always had a story or a joke to tell.

Joan was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She had a youth choir that held a special place in her heart. She was active in Catholic Daughter’s and many of the other church activities. Joan was a Den Leader for Cub Scouts and Webelo’s for both of her sons. She was an avid bridge player and organized several bridge groups and fun parties. Joan enjoyed doing hardanger, cross stitching and many other crafts along her way. Joan loved her family, she enjoyed her grandchildren and later her great grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her son, Danny (Teri), daughter Julie (James) Dunnigan, Son in Law, Stephen Chiang; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sister in laws; Kathryn (Ervin) Selzler and Jenny Lacher, and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband Leo, son Steven, parents, and her four brothers, Robert (Elsie) Clark, Leonard (Lee) Clark, Loyd (Vi) Clark and Jack Clark.
