Judy McDowell Stewart, 69, wife of John Mason Stewart and a resident of Jamesville, VA, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at M.C.V. Hospital in Richmond, VA. Raised on a tobacco farm in Providence, NC, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Lee McDowell and the late Dorothy Roberts McDowell. She was a retired teacher for Northampton County Public Schools, member of Exmore Baptist Church, former Senior Regent of Women of the Moose Lodge #683 and member of the Northampton, Virginia and National Education Associations.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by three children, Sgt. John Mason Stewart, Jr. of Fort Stewart, GA, Ryan McDowell Stewart and his wife, Tracey, of Centreville, VA, Sarah Lynn Stewart of Virginia Beach, VA and two grandchildren, Benjamin James Stewart and Anna Grace Stewart, both of Centreville.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Carpenter officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Fire Company, Post Office Box 706, Exmore, Virginia 23350.
