Born in New York, N.Y., she moved to Lake Como in 1971, coming from Wallkill, NY. She was employed with Citizen Herald newspaper for much of her adult life. She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church of Lake Como where she was a longtime choir member. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 200, Crescent City Moose Lodge 1641, and the Women's Club of Crescent City. She was a very active member of many organizations including the Second Band Shop of the Community United Methodist Church of Lake Como and many other organizations. She was known for selling tickets for local dinners for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, George Brach, and sister, Shirley Kascur.
Survivors include two step-daughters, Margaret Cleveland and husband, Jack, of Wallkill, and Lake Como and Carol Thom and husband, James, of DelRay Beach; one stepson, James Brach, and wife, Donna, of Lehigh Acres; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
A memorial service will be Monday, March 27, at Community United Methodist Church in Lake Como. Rev. David Charleton and Rev. George Zimmerman will officiate along with the Order of the Eastern Star. Burial will follow at a later date in Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Wallkill.
