Ronald T. Koumaras Sr., 71, of Long Valley, Washington Township, died on Oct. 25, 2006, at home.

The funeral will be at the Davis Chapel Cemetery, Beaver Township, Columbus County, PA, on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006,

Interment is in Davis Chapel Cemetery, Zion Grove, Pa.

Born in Irvington on Oct. 15, 1935, Mr. Koumaras lived in Long Valley for most of his life. A plastics engineer for 38 years before retiring, he worked most recently at Accurate Products Co. in Hillside.

Before that, he worked for Webb Dynamics, formerly of Flanders. Mr. Koumaras was a graduate of Newark College of Engineering with a degree in mechanical engineering.

He served in the Army in the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in Spotswood, the N.R.A. and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

Mr. Koumaras was predeceased by his parents, Theodore Koumaras and Julia Bankel, and by his wife, Barbara Caulfield, on Oct. 3, 1998.

He is survived by a son, Ronald Koumaras Jr. of Long Valley; a daughter, Christine Koumaras of Greentown, Pa., and Barbara Koumaras of Denville; a grandson, Ronald the 3rd, of Long Valley; a granddaughter, Krista Koumaras of Nazareth, Pa., and a brother, Terrence Koumaras of Waretown.
