April Lee Feagins Allen passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in Tulsa. She was 60. Born July 19, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to John Charles Feagins and Mary Alice (Malott), April was reared and educated in the community of Oologah.
From Oklahoma, April moved to Dolan Springs, Arizona where she served as Fire Chief of a community volunteer fire department and also worked as a paramedic. Upon her return to Claremore, she received training and was employed as a massage therapist. Later, she pursued a degree in nursing from Rogers State and found employment through the Claremore Veterans Center. She worked in that capacity until she was forced to take an early medical retirement.
She married Scott Allen on April 4, 1998. They continued to make their home in Claremore.
April was a loving wife, mother and sister. She was never one to judge and always had a listening ear as family and friends alike found security in sharing their story with her. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and simply being in nature. April was a collector of various trinkets. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by: her husband, Scott Allen of the home; son, Ron Barker of Memphis, TN; sisters: Carla Fusik of Verdigris, Autumn Mahaney of Welling, OK and Paula Harrington of Verdigris.
She was preceded in death by: her parents: John Charles Feagins and Mary Alice (Malott) Hill.
Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 27, 2016 in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Vinita.
