Life Legacy

Troyce L. Axton, 81, of Pickens, OK, passed away May 25, 2016, at his home.

Troyce was born in Battiest, OK, to M.B. and Myrtle M. (Davis) Axton.

He was a member of the Pickens Assembly of God Church and had lived in McCurtain County all of his life. He was a board member of the Pickens Assembly of God Church for many years.

Troyce was an avid outdoorsmen, and loved hunting and fishing. He loved working with his mules, as well. He was musically inclined and loved playing his banjo, harmonica and guitar. Troyce loved his family, grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. He also loved his church family dearly.

Troyce married Carolyn Scott in Hugo, OK, in January of 1957.

He is survived by his wife, of the home, Carolyn Axton, of Pickens, OK; two sons, Vic L. Axton, and wife, Trish, of Battiest, OK, and John Bradley Axton, of Battiest, OK; daughter, Donna DeLozier, and husband, Mark DeLozier, of Pickens, OK; brother, John Axton, of Pickens, OK; sister Lois Gee, of Idabel, OK; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Joshua, Tara, Christy, Mindy, Tyler and Amber; 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Troyce is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Orland and Bernard Axton; and a grandson, John Brandon Axton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016, at the Pickens Assembly of God Church, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Gary Furr and Rev. Larry Morris officiating, with burial following at Battiest Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Friday, May 27, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, in Broken Bow, OK.
