There is no epitaph in the tomb but the drum of the dome contains an inscription which read as: "SUSANNA ANNA MARIA YEATS REBOORE VERKERK OBiIT 12 MAY ANNO 1809". Here 'Reboore Verkerk' means her title was Verkerk by birth.
Her 2nd (known) husband was Thomas Yeats, a well-established Englishman stationed in Bengal. They married March 30 1795 in the St. John's Anglican Church, Calcutta.
Her daughter Susanna Jacoba Brueys was born in 1761, bapt. June 3, 1761
Son: Louis Adriaan de Brueys (who married Carolina, and died in 1823)
And possibly another daughter named Maria Anna de Brueys (who married Johan Salomon van Haugwitz, Director of Bengal, 1795)
It is written she had seven husbands and killed them all - leading to a nick-name of black widow. A short story called "Susanna’s Seven Husbands" about her was written by Ruskin Bond - A bollywood film named “7 Khoon Maaf” has also been made about her story
