Marvin E. Alten, 103 School St., age 68, died on Sunday, July 17, 1994
at home. He was born June 22, 1926 in Chilton, son of the late Fred and
Molly (Bornemann) Alten. He married Marjorie Rose Kadow on August 24,
1952. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1963. He served in the U.S.
Navy during World War II and worked for GTE for 33 years until his
retirement. He was a member of Hickoy Hills Country club and VFW Post
3153. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Terry
Friederichs, Chilton; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Tamara Alten,
Chilton; four grandchildren: Nicole, Melissa and Brandon Alten and his
special friend and buddy, Brooke Friedrichs; two brother brothers,
Douglas Alten, Chilton; Olan Alten, Menasha; two sisters, Ruth Burbey,
Two Rivers; Audrey Stecker, Menasha. He was also preceded in death by
two brothers, Frederick and Jerome Alten. Marvin Alten's wishes were to
be cremated. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home from 4 to 9 pm
on Wednesday July 20, 1994. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm
Wednesday evening at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been
established in the name of Marvin E. Alten.
