A. Louise (Erskine) Lewis, 103, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at her residence.
She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late John and Agnes (Jones) Erskine on May 8, 1914. On April 17, 1933, she married Leonard G. Lewis, who preceded her in death on April 17, 1989.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Leonard and Jack Lewis, and a son-in-law, C. Daniel Hollis.
Louise leaves behind a daughter, Venita Hollis, of Columbus, with whom she resided the last several years; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is daughter-in-law, Sylvia Lewis, and good friend, Sister Wilma Ross.
Louise was a 1932 graduate of Chillicothe High School and the oldest member of Walnut United Methodist Church, where she was secretary of the former Sarah Circle. After Louise and Leonard sold their business, Lewis Fruit Co., they enjoyed traveling and always had their bags packed ready for the next adventure. At the age of 95, she took her first and last airplane trip. Louise lived life to the fullest, enjoying family and friends to the very end.
Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, in Concord Church Cemetery, with Father Vince Nguyen officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home.
