William Richard Jeffries III, 82, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday. Mr. Jeffries was preceded in death by his parents, William and Daisy Kate Jeffries, and a sister, Edith Sylvia Harvey.
He was a graduate of Mississippi State University, with higher degrees from the University of Michigan, Penn State and Auburn University. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the USAF after 22 years of service.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday at First Baptist Church Chapel in Huntsville. The funeral service will follow at noon in the chapel with Rev. Mark Seanor officiating. Visitation will also be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Oddfellows Cemetery in Starkville.
