Howard James Foy Jr. MOORESVILLE On Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, the world lost a great man, Howard James Foy Jr., 72. He was born in Charlotte, July 12, 1942 and died peacefully at his home on Lake Norman. He is survived by his two sons, Howard James Foy III; daughter-in-law, Maria Ines; grandsons, Howard James Foy IV, Nicholas, Matthew and Timmy of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Michael Chrisman Foy; daughter-in-law, Jayme; grandchildren, Samantha and Zachary of Charlotte; and his former wife, Sandra Foy of Charlotte. He was the eldest of six children born to Ella Vene McFadden Foy and Howard James Foy Sr.

He was a veteran of the Army and while enlisted, a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion. He was a Third Degree Mason of the Excelsior Lodge #261 and a member of the Shriner's Oasis Temple in Charlotte. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, bowling and golf with his lifelong buddies and family. One of the youngest persons to receive a N.C. Electrical Contractors license, he subsequently founded and owned Amp Electric in Charlotte.

The family will receive friends and family Saturday, Oct. 25, from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in his honor.
