Karen C. Lindsay age 46 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away early Thursday morning June 5, 2014 at the Sturgis Hospital Emergency Room.
She was born June 10, 1967 in Elkhart, Indiana daughter of James and Mary Lee (Hapner) Pringle.
Karen resided in Sturgis for the past 17 years coming from Elkhart, Indiana. She was a graduate of Elkhart Memorial High School with the class of 1985. Following her graduation she continued her education at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
On October 11, 2008 she married David Lindsay in Sturgis.
She was employed by PKG, LLC in Sturgis for the past several years holding the position of purchasing manager. She also worked in sales and service at Dutch Housing in LaGrange, Indiana for several years.
Karen was a member of the Sturgis Wesleyan Church and a very active member of B.P.O. Elks #1381 where she was a member of the 2011 National Ritual team. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, music, was a true fan of the Detroit Tigers and a nearly fanatical Notre Dame fighting Irish fan. Her loyal friendship will be missed by all that were fortunate to know her. Karen had many hobbies, memberships and interests but what she truly loved and valued was time surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband and love of her life: David; daughter: Alexandra Zylman of Elkhart; step daughter: Jessica (Andy) Kiss of Sturgis; five grandchildren: Adriel Zylman, Lindsay Kiss, Taylor Kiss, Kaidence Ann Lindsay and Dominick Lindsay; parents: James and Mary Lee Pringle of Elkhart, Indiana; two sisters: Rebecca Pringle and Shelly (Chris) Rody both of Elkhart, Indiana; one brother: Eric (Mary) Pringle Elkhart, Indiana; grandmother: Ruth Pringle of Elkhart, Indiana and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her step-son: Joseph Lindsay; grandparents: Mary and Frederick Blume, Warren Hapner and Gail Pringle.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-3284. Funeral services celebrating the life of Karen Lindsay will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Sturgis Wesleyan Church, 907 N. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. In accordance with Karen's wishes cremation will follow the service. Private burial of the ashes will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis at a later date.
