Alvin Fair “Buz” Austin, Jr. passed away on April 18, 2016, at his home in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Austin was born in Cleveland to Alvin F. Austin, Sr. and Mavis Nicholson Austin. He fell in love with Colorado as a child and moved to Durango in 1981 where he worked for The Durango Herald, The Greenery and Durango Concrete.
He is survived by son, Brad Austin (Connie) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Rita Austin of Durango, Colo.; two grandchildren, Zach and Leah Austin; and a sister, Fairy (Charlie) Brown of Enterprise.
A memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. on June 4 at the Pine Bluff Church near Winona.
