Merle thomas, 82, Johnstown, died May 24, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born October 23, 1933, in Johnstown, son of the late George I. and A. LaVerna (Beisel) Thomas. Preceded in death by a son, Martin; sister, Regina Deffenbaugh; and brother, Arnold Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Arlene (Krise) Thomas; sons: Faber, married to Joanna (Butterbaugh); Bruce, married to Paula (Gula); Doug, married to Jeanie (Webb); and Cory, married to Barbara (Bair); daughter, Merlene, married to Kelly Sanders; grandchildren: Austin, Jared, Travis, Nicole, Clarissa, Carson, and Cameron; and great grandchildren: Landon, Adriana, Ryder, and Delaney. He was a member of Salix-Bethel United Methodist Church. Merle was a retired steel hauler and tile setter, enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, gardening, quad riding, bus trips, day trips to casino's, Silver Sneakers aerobics, and refinishing furniture. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Henderson Funeral Home East Hills, 2503 Bedford St. where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev.
