She retired from the Roopville Post Office with more than twenty five years of service. She was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Steed, Sr.; brother, Roger Shoemaker; sister, Margie Gorman; and grandson, Andrew Holder, Jr.. Survivors include her children: Paula E. Holder, and her husband, Mike, of Powder Springs, Georgia; Donna K. Lively and her husband, Jerry, of Rockmart, Georgia; and Paul H. Steed, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Merritt Island, Florida; brother, Arvin Shuemake of Daytona Beach, Florida; two grandchildren: Leslie Bell and John Paul Steed; and two great grandchildren: Drew Bell and Esther Steed. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 12:00 Noon from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Bryan officiating. Interment will follow in Roopville City Cemetery. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
