Myers, Roxanne Israel Roxanne Israel Myers, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a devoted mother and wife, passed away early on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after a nearly month-long battle with cancer. She was 49. Mrs. Myers is survived by her husband, Warren Myers; son, Luke Myers; mother, Ethel Israel; brothers, Kent Israel, his wife, Linda Israel, Phil Israel and his wife, Virginia Israel; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was preceded in death by a son, Dane Garrett Myers; and her father, Lee Madison Israel. Mrs. Myers was born in Ville Platte and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Mrs. Myers briefly attended LSU and Louisiana Tech University. For more than 12 years, she worked as project manager for Statistical Resources Inc. in Baton Rouge, coordinating waiver support services with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. Mrs. Myers was an avid sports fan and spent many a spring afternoon rooting for LSU and Catholic High School baseball teams, supporting "Mama Rox's boys." She was a wonderful cook, a gifted photographer and will be sorely missed by anyone lucky enough to spend an afternoon fishing in her backyard, chatting with her about baseball, reliving the early years of growing up in Ville Platte or reminiscing about the good ole' days at Catholic High. Visitation will be held at St. George Church, 7808 St. George Drive, on Monday, Jan. 23, from 10 a.m. until memorial service at 11 a.m.
