Born May 16, 1925, in Sunbury, she was daughter of the late Oscar and Dorothy (Foulk) Hummel.
She was a member of East Shore Baptist Church where she participated with the prayer chain and knit & stitch club.
Bertha had worked as a registered nurse with the Polyclinic neonatal unit and was part of the Polyclinic Nursing Alumni. She was an avid painter.
Surviving are two sons, J. Michael and David A. Brill, both of Mechanicsburg; 3 daughters, Rebecca A. Kissinger of Lebanon, Jean D. Jostenski of Linglestown, and Suzanne E. Brill of New Cumberland; a sister, Ruth Bartholomew of Middletown; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016, 7:00 p.m., at East Shore Baptist Church, 6721 Old Jonestown Road, Harrisburg. Visitation will be from 6-7:00 p.m. at the Church. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her Church or the American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 897, Hershey, PA 17033.
