Stephen J. Rice, 67, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Audubon Villa, Lititz. Born in Elizabethtown, he was the son of the late Robert U. and Kathryn E. (Horning) Rice.
Steve retired from NCR. After retirement he worked for Elizabethtown College as a Groundskeeper.
Steve is survived by three children, Kristine Herman of Barefoot Bay, FL., Joel Rice of Lititz, and Lindsey Rice of Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Katie and Jeff Bourne of Lancaster, Zachary Bourne of Palm Bay, FL., Kasi Herman of Barefoot Bay, FL., Bria and Blaise Burgoyne of Elizabethtown, and Liam Rice of Lititz; three sisters; Nancy Hein of Summerfield, FL., Sharon Glunt, and Stephanie Rice both of Elizabethtown; and two brothers, Jack Rice husband of Ruthie of Elizabethtown, Kerry Rice husband of Gloria of Scottsdale, AZ, and Tom Rice of Glendale, AZ.
He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen J. Rice, Jr.; daughter, Tammy J. Bourne; three sisters, Jean Anderson, Peggy Pallini, and Gloria Snyder; and a brother, Robert U. Rice Jr.
A memorial service honoring Steve's life will be held at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc. 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will follow at Mount Tunnel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1630 Manheim Pike, Lancaster PA 17601.
